phone reception question
- I know that there have been some other threads about the radios on the SIII, I am curions if anyone has gone from an Epic 4g to the SIII and if they have noticed any improvement in phone reception. I am considering an upgrade, but I work in construction, and I am on the phone all day. I could draw Sprints coverage map for them because I know exactly where I am going to drop calls or lose signal in my daily travels. And it seems that I am always working in an area that has little or no signal and I need to be on the phone. So if anyone has any idea whether or not I could expect to have better or worse reception , your input would be appreciated.07-10-2012 09:01 PMLike 0
- one thing to consider is if you are in a wide area deadspot then no matter what phone you have you will always drop service in that area.
Im in Dallas, and one location i know of is like this.
Some spots maybe on the fringe of a dead spot and this is where a phone with a better radio/antenna will help.
I cant comment directly on the GS3, but i can comment on past HTC/Samsung devices. The radios/antennas have been better with Motorola and HTC over the years versus Samsung. This is my own conclusion based on actual usage.
With that said, i would suggest you take some time to evaluate the areas where you loose calls, and drive around them and see exactly how well your signal, if any is. IF its a large area with no signal, then not much you can do. If your driving thru a tunnel for example, and there are no repeaters inside, no phone will work better then any other. Signal just isnt there..07-16-2012 06:02 PMLike 0 - I came from the GSII and I have to say, without a doubt, that the GSIII's radio is superb to the GSII. For me, as I drive a dump truck for a living and travel all over Florida, call quality and reception is superior in every way. I mean, it's not MIND blowing, but it actually made a world of difference and that's important to me.07-16-2012 07:28 PMLike 0
