Upgrade for GS3... Should I?

My wife just got a GS3 yesterday and it is giving her notifications that an upgrade is available. I'm assuming it's some kind of firmware upgrade. I have the GS2 and recently received the new firmware upgrade to ICS for it along with all the little issues that now occur. So now I'm a little concerned about allowing this update on her phone. Do I need to worry about updating this phone?

I said "ugrade", but I guess "update" would be more appropriate.

I also noticed there is no option for turning 4G on/off like on my GS2 and the display only showed 3G. Could this "update" correct that too?

Don't most updates come with a change log? If so then give the log a once over and read carefully.
