Does turning off Samsung apps preloaded on the phone affect anything negatively? Will updates still come through and basic phone functions operate normally?
I went through and turned off basically every Samsung thing I didn't think I'd use or need and just want to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Thanks guys!

Re: Quick Question

You should be fine. If its applications your not using then nothing should be affected.

If the system allows you to turn it off then it should be fine. Critical system apps can't be turned off (without root). This has mo impact on ota

Ahhh, very good to know.. thanks. I've got something killing my battery. Did an install of 4.3 yesterday and trying to pinpoint the culprit.

Recent OS update/install will usually cause battery life to suffer a bit for the first day or two until things settle in.

Keep us informed in your findings :)

Turned off practically everything Samsung... Google things I don't use ( books, music, tv...) set my email to every 4hrs, and that did it. I have a 3500 battery I purchased (slim style) and I got 36 hrs of normal use out of it. I'm happy now :) Thanks! Oh, also turned off some Wi-Fi thing that had my phone searching for Wi-Fi everywhere I went. Think that helped also.
