If the oneclickroot isn't working well for you then try this method. Its not that hard and works well.

I rooted mine without a video but simply go to YouTube and enter "rooting the nexus s 4G "

did you mount the sd card from recovery on your phone, allowing the files to be pushed over? that could be the reason

I see....i think your problem may be that your drivers for the nexus s may not be fully/properly installed on your computer. I'd make sure that your computer recognizes your phone as "Nexus S"

Try this link to install the drivers:

Download Nexus S Drivers! | Android Drivers!

Let me know that helps ya out....good luck

For efficiency and everyday use the 2 roms i highly recommend are:

    *OXYGEN 2.2.2
    *ALPHONSO GPA 17 final build

    Both are very nice

You can google to find them or they should be listed in the link for Roms.

I would just make sure that you get the roms for the "NEXUS S 4G" if you have Sprint...the regular Nexus S roms are for t-mobile.

    sure...try this:

1-mount your sd card to your computer
2-download the rom you want. transfer it to your sd card (to the root of your sd card)
3-pull your battery to turn your phone off
4-hold the up volume and power your phone back on, at the same time booting it into recovery
    5-choose recovery
6-choose install zip from sd card
7-select the rom you are wanting to use, and you should be good to go

btw, make sure you have at least half of your battery left, so it has enough juice for the rom to flash
