    Hello,

I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who had trouble rooting their nexus s 4g running on ICS 4.0.4? If so, how did you finally get it to root? Because according to the video I followed by qbking on youtube, my phone should be rooted, but it still is saying no access on the root part. Help! I really want to get jelly bean on my phone soon. Thanks.

    Hello,

The methods used to root have remained unchanged for all versions of Android on the Nexus. Take a look at the stickys we have for rooting and if you still have questions hit us up and we'll get you up and moving.

    Good luck

One of the one click methods I was trying last night didn't work but this one did the trick. I got root and CWM now. Best of luck!

Try the steps in my post: http://forums.androidcentral.com/spr...anogenmod.html

I had tried other methods and they were missing 1-2 steps or good explanations, so I wrote down everything I did that got it to work. Even if you're on Windows, the guide should work. Instead of opening a "Terminal" you'd open a command prompt (Cmd.exe).

Can this be done after trying to root it previously, or does it need to be stock?

Try my guide. I did that after previously trying and getting the "dead android" icon showing up on my screen when I tried to load into recovery.
