Will this update stop the force close when using the eps navigation? Also, I prefer eps over the gps.

As long as the update lets me at least get a signal at work like when I had my Evo, even though it was only 1 bar, then I'll be happy. Stupid old buildings with their lead paint and asbestos blocking my signal.

No but it will build you a private island and transform into a jet to take you there.

Did you just get a notification or did you do something to force the update?

This morning I forced my phone to check for the update by doing the "Checkin" code on the dialer. Then like 10 mins ago I just went to settings - system updates and it was downloading the Sprint Nexus S OTA update. I didn't do anything but that. It has the downloading bar fulling up and below that is the discription of what its for. It states the following " This software improves network throughput, signal strength indicators and adds TTY functionality. The software update requires a reboot and your phone will not be available durning this time. Please do not remove the battery durning the update. For additional information see . http://community.sprint.com/baw.thread/72067"

How does the checkin code work?

check out the other thread to see how to download the update manually. Much easier. The checkin in code just forces your phone to check for updates. That code is in the other thread also.

Maybe I'll get a response here as the other thread has gone crazy with actual update talk, lol.

    1) If you could download straight from Google in the first place: Why is it not suggested by Google or Sprint?
    2) Where does one go to find this link on your own? For instance what site do I go to and where do I go from there?

Why would they post it and not let people know where it is? I'm confused about that, lol.

Some people have trouble copying the file to their phone and rebooting into recovery. I'm sure google is trying to dumb this down as much as possible by "forcing" the update over the air.

If I had to guess.... the original OTA that came around launch was probably located:

    Code:
    http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_crespo4g/
And after someone had gotten this latest update and the actual filename was known, the link to it was figured out.
