I am new to my Nexust S 4G and new to Android. I was wondering why file sizes are so much smaller when i move a program to the SD partition and if there was any good reason to not move programs over to the SD side.

I think its because part of the program stays in the ROM. FYI, Android will let you move almost every program but if it has a widget attached to it you wont be able to use the widget. The program App2SD will identify programs like that for you and will say it has to stay on the ROM. Its not a big deal anyway. I have over 100 apps on my phone and still have 700mb of ROM left.

Welcome to the NS4G btw. IMH the best Android device out right now. Tried the Evo 3D and came from the iphone 4. Beats both of them handily.

Ironically, let an app sit on your "SD Card" storage for a while and then move it back to your phone, and it will be smaller...
