If I say "Call John Frank", Voice Search does a GOOGLE search on John Frank instead of searching my contacts for John Frank. I've been searching online for a solution and have tried all of the recommendations like:
    - Making sure my default language is English (US).
    - Downloading the latest version of Voice Search from the Market.
    - Clearing Voice Search's data from the Settings menu.
    - Syncing all of my contacts with my Gmail account.

None of the above actions has resulted in a solution. Any other ideas? Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Try using "Voice Command" instead of Voice Search.

I deleted and resynced my contacts with my Gmail account and rebooted again. It seems to be working for the moment. Keeping fingers crossed!

Voice Search only searches Google (gmail) contacts.

Voice Commands will search all contacts on the phone even if they are not sync'd w/ google.

I've recently tried Vlingo, and really like it. It seems to combine all Voice Search & Voice Commands into one app, and it is very accurate in its voice recognition.
