So I understand that while the phone is optimized for WiMax 4G, I read on XDA and elsewhere on the internet that the Photon, with a firmware update, could operate on LTE. I also read a story that a Verizon 4G LTE SIM card worked in a Photon (a worldphone) and that a few engineers think it would work with LTE. Whats the true deal on this? It is one of the newer 4G Sprint devices.

From what I've read on forums, it's not possible because the MoPho would need the LTE radios in order to work.

There was talk of doing some kind of LTE using the wimax but Sprint got out of Clear.com, so I wouldn't count on it.
