Handcent SMS

My wifes Photon is doing something really wierd. She has always used the Handcent SMS app and yesterday, some sort of update was pushed to her phone from either Motorola or Sprint. After the update, some of her texts are not coming through and she is getting a random text from a number "8737" and it is just a bunch of characters which are random. Any suggestions on this and what it is? Thanks in advance.

Check the stock text messages app... If its normal there, seems like a glitch with handcent. If not, sounds like sprint...

that text is the visual voice mail check in number. see if there is a setting where handcent wants to be the default for all texts. go sms had that option checked by default and if it does have that option disable it in handcent. I was getting scrambled texts from 8737 because visual voicemail gets texts from that short code to make visual voicemail download the voice message.
