Galaxy S4 - Texting from landscape mode

I did some searching and didn't see this particular issue. If it's been posted and answered, please let me know.

My wife likes to type holding the phone in landscape mode (horizontally) and when she sends a text and rotates the phone back to vertical, it scrolls up and displays the oldest text in the list. She then has to scroll all the way down to the bottom every time she sends a text. A huge deal? No. But it does get annoying after a while. I've tested it on my Galaxy S2 and it doesn't do that. When turned back vertical, the S2 will display the latest text in the list.

Is it doing the same thing for you guys?

I don't think there is a fix other than getting an sms replacement app. I use textra

Changing the UI from Easy Mode to Advanced Mode fixed the issue in my original post. I haven't checked to see if her phone has been updated, but I'm assuming it was that and not the update.
