Android GMAIL 4.2.1 - Do not want to sync my inbox and priority inbox folders.

However, if I reboot the phone, it defaults back to Sync'ing them and notifying me when mail comes through. Is it possible to have GMAIL on Android remember the latest changes in terms of the [priority]inbox and/or labels even on reboot?

Go settings>accounts Google>select your email at the top and unselect sync gmail. This should work.
