I just got a message on my Atrix 4G today stating that there is a system upgrade to 4.5.145 available and it's 27.1MB and it improves the GPS location accuracy... no mention of anything else that I can tell, but is anyone else getting this? Does this mean we're going to be getting something better than 2.3.6 in the near future?

Yeah I got the message too and went online looking for information about it. A couple of weeks back on Feb. 5, Cameron Summerson posted that this update would not be Ice Cream Sandwich. That's too bad as I think ICS would be a nice upgrade for the Atrix 4G. The update does contain improvements for Google Maps/Nav as well as latest Google security patches. Below is the message from AT&T. I also included the link to the Release Notes.

    Message says:
    Update available
AT&T FREE MSG: A new software update is available for your device to improve the GPS Location accuracy when using Maps version 6.9.0. View release notes for more information. A optional software update 4.5.145.en.US (27.1 MB) is available. Plug in the phone to ensure the battery is not drained during download. It is also recommended to download over 3G or WiFi.

Press Download to continue. All information on your phone will be saved. Press Later to be reminded in 8 hours. To skip this update press Cancel. To check for updates at any time, press the Menu key -> Settings -> About Phone

I forgot I had installed Rootkeeper and it worked just great. Back to root.

I issue with the update that I found is that it seems to kill the battery much quicker. Hmmmm

I noticed that too, however I didnt correlate it with the update, i thought it was because i rooted my phone shortly thereafter. But yes the battery life seems to go down much faster, to help I've disabled the GPS and BT when I'm not using them.

I just updated to this version yesterday and I'm noticing my battery meter is always fully charged. I downloaded a 3rd party battery meter and it always says 98%, even after I play a few games. Anyone else having this problem?
