ok so I got home and found my new atrix on the porch. I found a spot to run two speed tests on the kitchen counter and ran 3 back to back speed test's with my Nexus One without wifi. I then got the Atrix started up, activated the new SIM and made sure I was keeping my unlimited plan and put the phone in the same spot and ran some tests. For some reason the Atrix wasnt saving each test in the results, it shows 0.00 instead. Also notice I have my setting set to show MB not KB and both set to the same server.

The pic is kinda hard to read the specifics but Ill give you a run down....

Nexus One on 3g

0.17/1.17
0.18/0.75
0.22/1.17

Atrix on 4G

3.09/0.14
2.81/0.13
2.15/0.17

Nexus is unlocked but not rooted and is on 2.2.1, Atrix is box stock on 2.2.1

I wish I had thought of that before I decommisioned my Nexus 1.
Looks like we all have to wait for AT&T to complete their backhaul for our upload speeds to improve.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think the upload speeds have anything to do with AT&T completing their backhaul. I think that just like the Inspire we will find out that they have disabled HSUPA on the Atrix. At my house with my iPhone 4 I typically get around 2.5 mbps down and about 1.25 mbps up when I run a speed test. With my Atrix I am seeing around 3 mbps down and only 250 kbps up. There is no reason why the Atrix shouldn't get at least similar upload speeds as the iPhone unless AT&T has disabled HSUPA on the phone.

Just compared with my wifes iPhone 4 and got

iPhone 4
0.43/1.0

Atrix
1.97/0.33

Yep. My thoughts exactly from when I ran my speed test yesterday. Got 3.0 down, .35 up.
