Apk not supported?

Using firefly, I tried to download rescan media apk, but my phone says content is not supported on this phone. My stock tw could download apk files. Whats up?

Are you downloading it from a forum? I could never get that to work, but I could get it to download from a separate hosting site.

No it was a hosting file. I think it was just that one file since others have worked.

Ive tried the file from about 5 different hosting sites. Its ok cuz I found an alternative app that scans media

If you are downloading from the browser, the stock android browser will refuse to download certain files types. I install Astro file manager, and in the options for it, there is a checkbox to allow the browser to download anything... this usually stopped me from downloading .tar files, or even .zip files on a stock browser. Maybe that is it?
