Help! Phone stuck while updating

I was trying to update to Android 2.2 (which failed, but thats a different story) and I was following instructions and pressed the volume buttons while plugging my phone into my laptop and A. it didnt install the drivers and now my phone is stuck on the "Downloading... Do not turn off Target!!!" screen and I cant get it off, please help!

No choice but to pull the battery. Depending on where you were in Download Mode at the time, that COULD be bad. Download mode is not really for drivers, that is a way to load things onto the phone entire- A whole ROM for example.

Will your phone boot at all at this point? What happens if you try to boot normally after doing the battery hokey-pokey?

It does install drivers if you plug it in on download mode (at least it does for me). I think you need the regular USB drivers installed though. What directions are you using to upgrade?

After pulling the batter it booted up just fine, on any computer I plug into it will say windows doesn't recognize the device and it won't even work if I download the drivers from Samsung's website.
