Wondering about how good the camera takes pictures?

Does it have a flash?

The Captivates 5MP camera is pretty good, probably better than your first point-and-shoot was. It has options that allow you to tweak your photos to your liking. We do not have a flash however.

None of my cell phones have ever had a flash, you can do night vision, etc, so generally a flash isn't needed.

Yeah, the "night mode" works okay in low light but does you no good in pitch black. I don't find myself taking pictures in the darkness though. It is afterall a smartphone not a camera. Just make sure you change your resolution, it comes super-low to save disk space. My buddy has a Mesmerize (exact same phone than Captivate on US Cellular) with GB, it was set at 0.3MP, he kept complaining about his camera til I played with the settings for him, haha.

thanks, Kelly and Btswein. I'll try and remember to check settings, if I get one.

I tried taking a picture in low light last night with my mythic, one with flash and one with out. I could tell the difference but not to bad without.

It takes excellent pictures, except in very low light.
