Got me a new Captivate - questions

I am a tad new, just got me a new Captivate.

I know that AT&T has it somewhat locked down, but I have a couple questions.

The toolbar at the bottom that is by default on the Captivate
The icon for Mail, is that a program AT&T installed and locked you down to use? Different than the GMail program on the device?

It is different. The Gmail app is there in the app list. There are instructions on changing it in this forum.

As objectuser stated it is different that stock mail program is not at&t but actually the stock Samsung program and it is Crap! I switched it out for Maildroid which I recommend. It is pretty easy changing it...

+1 yes the stock mail app is part of touchwiz 3.0 which is put on by samsung. the biggest area AT&T locked the phone down is not allowing you to download apps from outside the marketplace.
