Ok here is the deal. I take the time and load 15gb worth of music on my 32gb sdcard. I can take that sdcard and put it into another laptop, and the music files play fine, BUT as soon as I plug that card into my phone, all but the first 5 albums disappear.

I have even tried plugging the phone in via USB and transferring the music directly to the phone, still nothing, i have taken every thing off the card, formatted it inside the phone and then loaded everything on to it, then it will still be those same albums. Any ideas on how I can use my 32gb card?

card info is its a Class4 32gb Kingston card. I was using a class 2 4gb card with no issues before this.

If it's the same albums both times and everything else works, I would think that it might be a formatting issue with the files. Do they show up through a file manager? Have you tried any different apps to play the music or just stock?

one thing I am noticing, it my card keeps making a directory called lost.dir and there seems to be a bunch of files in it that are large enough to be music files.

This is really starting to be a pain in the butt as I could use more music on my phone whenever I had the 4GB card installed.

I don't think Android can format a 32GB card. Format it under Windows and try again. Sorry, I know how long that means.

ok i formatted the card via windows and that took about 3 hours, still wont copy more than a few albums and says i have like 26GB left on the card, and still wont show up in the file explorer. It will all copy over to the phone memory, but whats the point of a 32gb card?

Sorry blueluck, 3rd shift worker here, lol. I checked on the specs for your phone and there is no reason it shouldn't take your SD card. I know that there have been some defective cards out there so that might be your issue. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

OK i was still having this problem, so I contacted Kingston, and the email I got from them reads:

"I'm sorry but your card is counterfeit as we don't use any of those numbers. Because this is not a genuine Kingston product our warranty will not apply. We do advise you to contact your vendor to dispute. If you do not receive a positive response you may be in a position where you can file a claim with your credit card bank."

Needless to say I was VERY upset, still waiting to have it resolved via Amazon, I have since purchased a 32gb card from Newegg, for $80. If I had known Amazon would have given me issues I would have spent the extra $10 to begin with on NewEgg. Kingston still claims Amazon is an authorized retailer, even though, this was a card purchased from them.

Hmmm you should have done test with H2TestW as you could have verified if the card was real or not. Some mSD are hexed to make look bigger than they are for example 2gb made to say 16gb and when you pass the physical 2gb threshold the rest of the data is corrupted. I am guessing your new mSD is the Wintech 32GB Class 10.

Sorry you had issue with Kingston 32GB Class 4 as I owned it also and here is the legit benchmark of it.

The data below is the actual IOPs from System (USB: Standard-A) to Device (USB: Micro-B) via USB (USB 2.0/SD 2.0). I am not using any type of card reader for this test as we only want the actual data rate of the card itself natively while its mounted in the device.

blueluck77,

Contact Amazon customer support *by email*, and explain your problem. I would be very surprised if they didn't help. If they don't, keep their emailed response, you'll need it for the next step.

If Amazon don't, did you pay for the memory card with your credit card? If so, call them, and explain the problem. Offer to provide details of the Amazon customer support response (they'll expect, and require, you to have tried that avenue first). My credit card customer support have always gone to bat for me, and offered instant refund against charges from unscrupulous on-line vendors.

Hope this helps,

AoN

Shipped the card back to them, still waiting for reimbursement.
