Just got the GN2 and lovin it. One thing I'm having trouble with is email. I use the stock email app to check my mail. When I log into my mailbox on my computer it empties my inbox on my GN2. If i uncheck the "Sync Email" box in the email settings I don't get any email. Am I doing something wrong here?

What email client do you use? It shouldn't empty your gn2 email inbox unless you delete your email client on your computer.

I use cox communication email with the stock email app on the gn2. On past phones if I checked my emails on my phone first the emails would stay there whether I read them or deleted them on my computer. If I checked them on my computer first they wouldnt go to my phone when I checked. Thats the way im trying to set it up. Any clues?

This is a tricky item for me too; I use the stock email client on my Note II.

My pop3 Note II inbox can delete from phone w/o affecting the server inbox.

I have folders on the server in my imap account so that, when I delete an email on my Note II, that email in my customized folders isn't deleted. (I just have to remember to move the emails to the folders.)

When I delete hotmail on my Note II, it also is deleted from the server; however as long as it's in my Note II "trash" it's also in my server hotmail "deleted" and therefore still available (and can be manually moved back to the inbox). Hotmail is considered (by my Note II) to be exchange.

One thing I do, and it may work for you, is I forward all my Cox email to my Gmail account. My Gmail is the only account linked to my note 2. And it works just like you're trying to set yours up. I can check either my note or the computer and nothing gets deleted until I move it to the trash. I believe it's cause Cox is a pop account and Gmail is imap.

I get so much junk mail to my gmail account i hate to use it. There has got to be a way to stop it from erasing all my emails on my phone when I check my email on my computer. Anyone else have anything???

Does a setting on your email server need to be tweaked?

What type of account (pop3, imap, etcetera) did you set on your Note II?

Cox is a pop3, Gmail is imap. Once you check a pop3 account it removes then from your inbox because it's a "snap" shot of your email imap is a live connection. The isn't a setting to be set that'll do that.

Let me clarify my problem. When I check my emails on my home computer all emails on my phone are deleted that's including emails that I have already received and read on my phone. When I go to my inbox on my GN2 it is totally empty. I have had my fair share of smartphones in the past including iPhones, HTC's and have never had this issue. Just sayin...
