Re: Unable to format SD card

If it's been formated with NTFS Android won't recognize it. Put it in your laptop and select FAT32. After you format it put it in your Note 2 and it should see it and you will be able yo format it for Android.

Re: Unable to format SD card

Actually I tried hard format as well. But I cannot format it for some reason. It is exFAT32 format and my phone recognizes the SD card.

Is the phone or laptop "seeing" the card? Do you see any messages that the card is being removed/unmounted and then remounted?

I just replaced my sd card in my Note 2 because my card was corrupt. I reformatted many times and it didn't work.

Yes. Both my phone and laptop recognize the card. I am able to save new files too. But not able to delete the old files nor format the card itself.

What is the brand name of the card?
What size is the card?
What class?
Did you try the long format FAT32 on your laptop/computer?
What OS is on your computer?

Sandisk, 64gb class 10
Computer OS - windows 7, 64bit
I did try the long format. But it did not yield anything even after couple of hours.

Did you go to the Sandisk website and try the troubleshooting steps? I hope the SD card isn't defective. Sandisk had major problems before and the Note 2 was one of the phones that had issues w/Sandisk cards. How old is the card?

Some cards have a little slide lock that prevents you from erasing/formatting the card. Make sure that is not the case.
