Unroot Method Ok?
- Isn't a quick and easy method to unroot a Note to delete the su.apk and SuperUser.apk files in their respective /bin and /app directories? Then a quick reboot? Am I missing something in the requirements to flash an Odin file? I only ask because I am in the situation where I rooted my Note and now I would like to go back to stock, but I only have access to a Mac computer now.
Any quick response is welcome, especially since I hear that Kies has the ICS update. My computer will not recognize a device is plugged in.07-09-2012 07:41 PMLike 0 - Thats a good quesiton, i am rooted and keis wont reconize my phone either sammy wont help, they say the only reason why the phone isnt reconized is that im not usin a sammy cable07-09-2012 11:20 PMLike 0
- Correct. I had the tether manager froze through TiBackup. I had a generic cable I got with a charging station, then switched to a Motorola cable, poof. The Kies program identified my Note and the ICS update came on through. I lost root, but everything else stayed the same. I have not checked about the tether manager, but I do not care about that anymore.07-12-2012 07:19 PMLike 0

- To get Root access back just have to flash CWM thru Odin and then put the superuser.apk file on the internal storage.
After you get CWM on there just reboot to it and install the superuser.apk and reboot. Once you do superuser will be installed and operational. You can then install TiBu and do what you need.
I have done this personally and it works. I have SU, TiBu, SetCPU among other root apps operational on my device. Works perfectly.07-12-2012 11:46 PMLike 0 - To get Root access back just have to flash CWM thru Odin and then put the superuser.apk file on the internal storage.

I've also tried several button combinations, but no success. Any suggestions?
Thanks !

The very first Odin download. This is the same one I used. After that restart your phone. Then reboot into CWM.07-16-2012 08:14 AMLike 0 - Reflash CWM with Odin.

I deleted the original SuperUser App that I flashed on gingerbread, reflashed CWM on ICS, and still won't root.....weird stuff.
I'll take a look at your link and see if that'll work.
Thanks again!

That is because you have to hold BOTH volume buttons when you hit the power button to get to Recovery. Holding just the Volume Down only gets you to Download Mode.
Turn off the phone. Hold both volume buttons, hold power till you feel it vibrate. Let go of Power but still hold the volume buttons. You will see it go into CWM.objbuilder likes this.07-16-2012 11:20 AMLike 1
