I know that Android Central is reporting that the AT&T Galaxy S2 will be available on the 18th, but pretty much everywhere else I looked is reporting that only Sprint has announced a release date (September 16.) Where did the 18th come from?

Why would the release date of Sprint affect the release date of ATT? ****, they could release the phone right now if thye wanted to.

Obviously, my point was that it seems that Sprint is the only one with a confirmed release date, yet AC is saying that AT&T will release on the 18th. Did I miss that announcement somewhere or was this inside information that AC got a hold of.

It would make sense if it was released on the 18th because all AT&T phones are released on sundays

Lol, the release dates were given out as people got to play with the phones at each carriers section after the announcement presentation. Androidcentral posted the dates and sure enough the Sprint one is right as it's up on their site now. AT&T doesn't have theirs up yet but the editors here wouldn't report us a wrong date right after a press event with representatives present to give out info.

I've seen different dates out there, including no date. The thing is, everyone out there seems to have an opinion. Who knows where they got their information. I tend to count on Android Central for receiving good information because they've always been on target for me. When they report a rumor, they tell you it's a rumor. Most reliable information here, to be sure.

I tend to agree. The whole SPE family seems to be very good about that. That said, I've been all over the SGS2 page on the AT&T Wireless site as well as their press release and there's no date given. All they say is "in the coming weeks"

Haha, agreed. I just picked up the Infuse today and I'm hoping that the GSII comes out before October 1st so I can exchange it...lol

The 16th or the 18th really doesn't make much difference to me, as it is only a matter of 2 days either way.

It had better be available at Target...lol. That's where I bought my Infuse.

I hope the 18th is accurate! I waited until the 30th day, and returned my recently purchased Infuse 4g on Saturday.

I'll be stuck with an old bberry bold 9000 until whenever the "Attain" starts living up to it's name...

Beware... run-on sentence Isn't it kind of dumb how we saw this phone in the first few months of the year to see it released in may and watch our event get cancelled in May and wait until the end of July to hear the head of Samsung say the phone will will come out in August and get that event finally to see the phone, still with no advertised official release date? [out of breath]. Definitely dangling a carrot.

Yes, but a very enticing carrot. If any phone is worth that dreadful wait, it would definitely be the GS2.

Psssh. Verizon just officially announced the Bionic today, for release ... tomorrow. *boggle* Don't try to apply anything resembling common sense when discussing US mobile carriers.

ATT just announced a Huawei phone to release on the 18th. Definitely not too late for them to announce the Galaxy.

My local AT&T store is so small it takes a half hour or more to get waited on on a normal day. When this phone comes out it will be ugly.
