So like i mentioned in another post I've moved from a Iphone 3gs to a the Galaxy s2. I love the new phone. However I do miss the fact that I could back up the phone and all using Itunes (as bloated as that program was).

So I read about Kies. Ok sounds like what i need. I downloaded it and after spending a good hr trying to figure out why it wouldn't see my cell , it worked for some unknown reason. Then I figured - ok let's back up the phone...I have around 100 pictures on the phone. I clicked back up and let the phone/pc do it's thing. A hour later ..nothing. Eshhh.

Then I went to the sd card to view some pictures i have there. You'd think I'd be able to actually SEE the pictures but all i got was a generic icon for each one listed. So I had to click on each picture to see what it was.

I also noticed that you can upgrade the phones firmware via kies..so i thought great that would help a lot if Samsung released a firmware update in the future. That being said the way kies is so buggy i'm afraid i'd bork the phone update process.

Anyways, anyone have luck using Kies or is there a better way to backup/add pictures, contacts, music, etc?

You use doubletwist to back up your phone to your computer? Kies is to transfer your file from the phone to the computer . didn't know doubletwist did that.

OP... I haven't myself tried it, no time.... But a few people used it on the Epic and said it work good , Backed up the files faster then threw the usb some say. read up on it

Interesting,I keep reading the same type of post but Kies works for me without issue. I like the interface and the ability to not need a USB plugged into my PC.

Plus on my network its pretty darn quick to transfer very large photos.

For sh*t's and giggles I tried Kies again. This time I disabled the sd card and re enabled it, then reconnected the phone. Success!

I was able to move music and pictures back and forth as well as back up the phone. *knocks on particle board*.
