couple questions about rooting

1. i heard it voids the warranty, can you unroot, and get the warrant valid again?
2. at this point, what are some neat things i can do with my s2 if i root, ive never done it b4 and im kind of happy with my phone but i use it less and less because it is some what boring
3. i use a launcher and it is SOMEWHAT of a battery drain, i even got juicedefender but that made it worse so i deleted it, is rooting a more developed way of using a new launcher as well? or would i still be using something like go launcher
