Bricked sgh-i747

Hi,

I tried rooting my SGH-i747, using Odin 3.7 and Ultimatum. For whatever reason that locked up part-way through the install.

I downloaded AT&TGS3CWM6.0.1.2.tar and installed... after reboot, I get the "Rethink Possible" screen and then the phone sits at "Samsung". No further activity.

After going into Download mode I DO NOT get any menu... just a few lines about Odin, the green Android logo, and "Downloading..."

I am not able to access any menu on the phone - it isn't there.

Kies does not recognise the phone.

Any ideas?

What you describe is correct for download mode. It's designed to connect to a PC running ODIN, and then ODIN actually controls the download to the phone.

Are you trying to get into recovery mode? That's Volume UP, Home and Power, and will give you a menu of options.

The good news is that if you can boot into download mode, you're not really bricked.

My mistake... confusing Recovery and Download mode.
