In another thread, I read of some people disabling s-voice in Settings | applications mgr to improve battery life.

1. If the app isn't running, is it not being disabled draining my battery?
2. If so, what default apps should be disabled? (BTW, disabled items appear at the end of the list in 'all', so you can re-enable if you change your mind.

Thanks,

Mike

I disabled:

AT&T navigator
S voice
Allshare

I've seen a big boost in my battery also...

I disabled

AllShare Play

AT&T Navigator
ChatON
DeviceHelp
Flipboard
Kies air
Media Hub
S Suggest
YPmobile

Phone still works fine. Battery lasts all day with normal use

I was wondering if there are any other apps i can disable? or apps i disabled that i shouldn't have.

Just so you know, disabling S-Voice also prevents you from making any changes to 'Language and Input' under Settings. In fact, trying to click on it will cause a FC, every time. Enjoy.

Interesting. I tried every variation of installing, uninstalling s-voice and didn'tmatter what i did, if i disable s-voice via application manager, 'Language and input' would FC. Are you guys on stock rom and unrooted? Because i am completely stock.

I want to follow Pdelponte, and disable these:
AllShare Play
AT&T Messages
AT&T Navigator
ChatON
DeviceHelp
Flipboard
Kies air
Media Hub
S Suggest
YPmobile

...but, I don't understand why the disable option is greyed out. Anyone?

Thanks

If you haven't tried Flipboard, give it a try,it's AWESOME!: It's the single best app on the phone!

I use it EVERY DAY!

Have it disabled no fc at all. Works just fine

Well, that sucks for me. I must have something else that is doing the FC, but only when I disable S-Voice.

I have also rooted and even with Titanium backup, if I freeze S Voice same thing. I can't figure out the issue. Guess I just have to leave s voice enables. Enabling or disabling any other app has no effect either.

I'll ask again:

Does anyone know why some apps DON'T have the disable option?

Thanks

For the app in question, do you have an "Uninstall Updates" button? If so, tap it and uninstall the latest update. After it restores the original version of the app, you should have the Disable button back again.
