Now that we officially have Jelly Bean what are your thoughts?

I'm having a issue with the calendar since the update it keeps saying no calendar and when I go in and select my calendars (I like that this was changed) it will add them for a bit then they disappear again

Also I like that you can now make folders in the app drawer. But I have had Touchwiz Home crash on me a couple times.

I love it I've had no issues so far. It is fast and my battery actually seems to be better. That could be because I stopped using Nova launcher and when back to TW.

- I appreciate Project Butter as a long time iPhone user and current iPad user. Apps open and close absolutely instantly without any stutter or delay 99% of the time. It's the same with the home button, the app drawer, the multi-tasking menu.. it's easily noticeable where Project Butter is working. I think the animation when you tap to open a folder takes too long though; it's inconsistent with how fast everything else is and makes it seem like it's lagging. It's also disappointing when a particular app is still a little sluggish when the rest of the OS isn't hardly at all, but oh well.

- Apparently driving mode will transcribe your incoming texts and emails, etc. and let you dictate responses somehow. I haven't put it to use yet.

- Good Now is nice, but it should be accessible from the lock screen by default. I love the way stock android does it, with quick access the Google Now and the camera. I've turned it on though and will see how it helps me in my daily life over the next few weeks. Google Now can be accessed with a long press of the home button and then a tap of the middle icon. On the home screen it can be accessed with a long press of the menu button. A long press of the menu button will always access search in whatever application you're in. Google Now can also be accessed from the Voice Search icon. Google Now replaces Google Search, so anyway you could access Search will now bring you to Google Now.

**I'm not sure how much battery Google Now will draw yet, but if you're battery conscious you can go into Google Now -> Hit the menu button -> tap settings -> tap Goggle Now, and you'll get a list of all of Google Now's functions. You can disable them and their notifications individually. For instance the weather notification is on by default. I bet that draws a bit of power, so I disabled it.**

- There are little changes all over the place. Some are Samsung TouchWiz changes, some are Android Jelly Bean changes. The notification bar, along with its changed appearance allows you to expand notifications with a two-finger drag down. There's more to play with in the settings like a Do Not Disturb mode. The menu button has more options in most places.

- Battery life seems to be the same so far.

Oh. My bad.

FYI, you can approximate this behavior. There's a Google app that does nothing more than bring you into Google Now. Add that to your lock screen and you'll now have access directly from the lock screen.

Yeah I thought of that earlier. But I'm not ready to give up one of my lock screen apps for Google Now yet.

How do you activate it from the search bar?

Just tap it!

You can use this app to assign a double click of the home button to launch Google Now.

Thanks, this is really nice.

They got you covered! I think under ICS, the limit was 4 lock screen apps. Now you can do 5!

You sure can add 5..I didn't notice that when I was changing those earlier. In my defense, I've only been on ICS exactly one week so I wasn't completely familiar with the lock screen customization yet. :) I like the 5 better than 4, it looks more "balanced" to me now. Yeah strange, I know but it's the small stuff like that that will bug me lol

its pretty good, but after using cm10 it's not as good. I dont like how it looks the same as before. I had to use nova launcher to get the JB theme. So to me it's like Skyfall, not as good as casino royale but defintely better than quantum of solace.

One thing I'm really liking.I can swipe notifications off the pull down shade. There are some that I might not need to open, but I want them off the notification bar and you can just swipe them off to the side and they go away from the notification bar also.

Can we save apps to SD card now? I haven't downloaded JB yet. I really hope I can.

Yeah it does, but now many of us got the double home click to launch the Google Now where it is ready for you to speak just like the S Voice did.

I am going there once in some obscure place in AC.....when have the nexus devices impressed beyond what is available since the ONE? WTF? Verizon nexus failed so hard it wasn't even funny. And now, no LTE? Why not just come out and say you don't GAF. Sorry, but nexus hardware is eternal fail compared to Google OS. Get some REAL hardware and hack. FIN.

And if you make the icon for the "double click" the "Voice Search" and not "google" it brings up the voice and you are ready to talk, you don't have to wake it up by saying "google" first.

Has anyone noticed you can do 5 shortcuts on the lock screen? Is this new to JB?
