google maps problem

After i updated to JB a little while back i kept getting the red bars around screen and getting the google error, so i did a factory reset of my phone, and well most all is well now. But one big problem I'm having is with google maps, which i use quite a bit... Whenever i use two fingers to try and rotate the POV looking at the map, it sends me off to some random place on the map! Does anyone know what is causing this? How can i fix it? I have done a factory reset once , and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling maps. I dont really want to do another factory reset :/

can anyone hekp me this is very frustrating and very hard to read my map when it is necessary
