Hello, thanks for taking time to read this.

I need help with my brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-I747, AT&T unlocked).
The screen keeps freezing up like every 5 minutes.

Volume/power/home buttons work fine.
Phone receives/sends calls/texts/emails, and responds to s-voice.

I tried factory resetting like 10 times but it didn't solve the issue.
(out of 10 times, I was able to complete the process only twice because the rest of the time, the screen would freeze.)

It's only two-days old, fresh out of box. never been dropped or exposed to water etc.
I bought it unlocked/new from the newegg.
It's not in a protector case.

Is there anything I could do to fix the freezing issue before returning it to the vendor?
If it's the digitizer, can I open the case and do something about it? (I'm not familiar or knowledgeable with things like this however.)

I'm asking because I'd like to keep the phone.
I already activated the SIM and the service with Straight Talk and the whole process of returning the phone and replacing it may take around 2 weeks all the while draining my minutes.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Welcome to Android Central :)
If the phone has been having issues out of the box, I would return it.
The phone shouldn't be wasting any of your minutes if you are not using it.

Sent from my Galaxy S4 running SlimKat 4.4.2
