HTC One - Receiving Duplicate MMS

I've had my HTC One (AT&T) for a few months now and it's always duplicated any pictures I receive via text even before I tried other SMS apps but I never kept any and still use the stock messaging app. It only sends pictures twice but today it sent me a text with a long link twice as well.
Any idea why it does this? At first it wasn't a big deal but now it's just annoying.

This was happening to me too while using the stock messaging app. I switched over to Textra and the duplicate MMS stopped. Not sure if it was a bug with the stock messaging app or not... (Textra by the way is awesome, has a great popup quick reply feature that I love).
