I just got my inspire yesterday, really love it, I've noticed however that YP is running all the time when i check battery usage. anyone know what the deal is with this? is there a way to turn it off?

Spare Parts shows this damn app as running even when the phone is asleep. It's driving me nuts. I see no way to disable it or remove it.

You can remove it if you root.

I thought rooting involved downgrading to an older firmware version? i really don't want to do that. I wish there was an app that would allow me to prevent YP from running, or auto-terminate that process (and only that process) when it launches.

You downgrade the ROM then upgrade to the present ROM.
