Multiple Text Messages?help!

Today was the first time that I encountered this. For the past few weeks I would receive the same text messages in multiples from people.

Text 1
Hi
Text2
Hi

This would happen simultaneously and sporadic so I thought nothing of it. Today I was text messaging my little cousin and he mentioned to me why most of the messages that I send him he receives in the same way. I tried to call AT&T and they said that this has never happened before and pretty much made me shut down my device. After the reboot the guy told me that it was a computer glitch. If it is happening often what could the cause be?

I have the same issue everyone once in awhile. I always thought it was because of CM, but
I guess it might be on AT&T's end.

It happened intermittently to my iphone... I guess it's not device specific.

it has been happening a lot more often as of late.
