Hi all. This is my first ever post on this forum. I have been struggling for the past few days to get CM7 on my Phoenix before I came to this thread.. Been reading every single post till page 15. I'm going to flash the ICS ROM and the kernel posted by Arjen in this post. But I thought it would be unfair if I don't thank Arjen for his hard work and all you folks here for helping and encouraging. So here's to you all! I'd like to donate but I'm still in college so I'm donating gratitude here I have a Phoenix with me so let me know if you want any help with testing.

Ok so I flashed the ROM and Gapps alone (without the kernel). Mine is new baseband. Everything was ok and the device started properly, no colour problems or anything. Still what annoys me is that it gets stuck at some point during navigation and sometimes gives out error saying "Trebuchet is not responding". Then I have to remove the battery, wipe the cache and reboot again. I've not even overclocked my device because during the process of navigation to settings->performance itself it gets stuck. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Do you think I have to flash the kernel as well? I'm sorry if this issue has already been raised before and resolved, please point me to that.

P.S: I'm a newbie to this so please pardon me if my question sounds silly

get the newest CM9 build from the first page its dated for the beginning of this week. You flash that with gapps if your on lg505 new baseband. The newer updates have the kernel built in then you go down to recommendation section and adjust the performance like it has it

I was correct with getting the newest CM9 and gapps.. However I missed the recommendation part! Will do that and update back. Thank you!

UPDATE: So this is what is happening. The first time I boot after flashing CM9 everything works great! No problems for the most part. Trebuchet stops responding when I try to navigate while it gives tips like "you can hold the icon to create shortcut in home screen" and stuff like that. There once it gets stuck I have to reboot again. When I reboot, during the boot it says "android is upgrading the apps" for a while and loads the home screen. Now it gets stuck even if I try to navigate to apps menu. Trebuchet stopping is the most common problem I face. Any way to fix this issue? Thanks a lot.

Yes, in ROM manager, while selecting flash ROM from SD card, I always do the pre-installation steps wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.

By the way I greatly appreciate you trying to help me! Thank you!

There's the problem. There are issues using Rom Manager to flash ROMs only use it for flashing a recovery. The best way is thru your CWM Recovery.

Flashed it again through CWM, still the same result Why am I the only one getting this? The screen just freezes when I'm just moving through the apps. Sometimes it takes time to load but most of the time it just freezes off with the current screen and I have to remove the battery, go to CWM Recovery and reboot from there. If I try to power on normally from the power button, it doesn't boot. It starts to show as if it's charging for a couple of seconds and then switches off.

I guess it is just too slow for my phone. But why is that so?

The normal booting doesn't work for thus rom (it's a boot bug). Normally you go into cwm and reboot into the phone.

How do you partition the sd card?
You must have a custom recovery installed first.
Make a backup of your SDCard as partitioning it WILL ERASE ALL DATA.
Reboot device into recovery. Instructions for CWM follow...
    Choose the 'Advanced' option
    Choose 'Partition SDCard'
    Follow the prompts.
    Power off device.
    Restore data to SDCard.
    Reboot device.

    Good luck!

Tried flashing the 8/11 rom and immediately threw a (status 7) error because of the recovery some of us are using. I repackaged it with bill weckles modified updater script as his instructions stated and it worked fine. Remember, this is just for people with a CWM that doesn't allow you to flash roms for other phones. Easy instructions found on the first post of this page. http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-l...piccolo-2.html

Im pretty sure the camera issue you are having is tied into the lack of OpenMax Support by Qualcomm. So far there has been no fix for the openmax issue If you want a 100% functional ROM you will have to go with one of the Gingerbread based ROMs. There have been a number petitions and requests made but so far nothing has happened other than Qualcomm saying it isnt supported.
