t-mobile.com has the SGN2 listed at $319 today.... while it's not a great deal necessarily, it's cheaper than the standard $369....

Why are they charging so much for a phone that's supposed to be 299?

T mobile is always cheating their customers

i guess it's since their monthly prices are lower?

if you have a company discount, their Advantage site has it for $219 today

Actually, the regular T-Mo price is $419 ( $50 rebate). Netting $369, but with higher taxes due to the higher starting list price. $419 vs $299 everywhere else is insane.

    But they aren't lower.

Sprint is 79.99 unlimited while tmobile is 89.99

Yet sprint charges the right price, tmobile gouges

That is low for T-Mobile, they are no longer going to subsidize phones and will be charging full price. You will finance it on your bill for 2 years and then after it is paid off, your bill will drop.

well, I've only had T-Mobile for less than 48 hours.... and it's a few dollars more, but in my area at least (Louisville, KY), Sprint doesn't have 4G and T-Mobile does. It's not as fast as AT&T or Verizon here, but I'm still getting 10 meg down, whereas on Sprint i couldn't even get 1 meg......

and for me at least, the way i have my plan set up, it's literally a $2 monthly difference... i dont have Unlimited Data with T-Mobile, I went for the 2 GB plan to see how it works out for me, but I can bump it up for $10 more. With Sprint I did have Unlimited Data, but with dial up speeds here, unlimited data is pretty useless to me...

Plus I got the new customer price on the SGN2 with Tmo, and I would have the upgrade price on Sprint, so with my company discount, I ended up getting the phone cheaper

Looks like you can get it for 299 at Best Buy and the T-Mobile one you pay and send in for a rebate.

It's the same thing ALL the carriers are doing, tmobile is the only one that's honest about it.

No, AT&T isn't doing it, nor any other carrier but T-Mobile, as of right now. Other carriers still subsidize phones.

aside from after the phone being paid off, what's the difference between what T-mobile is doing and a subsidy?

    for example

90 bucks for unlimited everything with a contract and a 200 dollar phone payment = 1,800 for the first 20 months
70 bucks for unlimited everything plus 200 dollar down payment for the phone plus 20 a month = 1,800 for the first 20 months.

either way - it's STILL A SUBSIDY, you have the phone, you're using it, and however you decide to pay for it, you're STILL PAYING FOR THE PHONE - like I said, T-mobile is just the only one that's honest about it - and they actually lower the bill AFTER the subsidy is paid back.

so yes, AT&T, verizon, sprint ARE doing it.

t-mobile is just HONEST about their subsidy

I got my Note 2 on T-Mobile for $79+ tax. No activation fee. I actually am glad I made the switch from AT&T to T-Mobile. Living in the bay area, I have no problems with service except at work. If you are interested, send me a PM.
