T-Mobile Update for GN2...Help?

Hey There!

So I have an issue and was wondering if anyone can help here...I bought a T-Mobile GN2 and I live in Canada...I am with a different phone provider obviously...Is there anyway I can get this LTE network at all...I've updated the phone with the T-Mobile update...however, no LTE option is shown in the mobile networks option...I've also been told the only way I can get this LTE network is by rooting the phone...

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you get any service with your SIM? I was under the impression that the T-mobile Note 2 was carrier locked.

yeah I got my phone unlocked so I can use it with my carrier.

I believe Tmo U.S. LTE band is band 4, 1700mhz AWS. So even if it gave you the option in mobile networks, it won't pick up an LTE signal if your Canadian provider isn't the same frequency. As far as the update, I am curious as to if you updated after the root and on your local carrier or if you did it with a U.S. Sim over here. You may have gotten an update but it may have just been a patch.
