rooting?

I recently bought my Galaxy S 4g. Before that I had the captivate and the thing is I found a way to root my captivate without a pc just by downloading a root file.renaming to update.exe etc but I've been searching to see if I can find a file to do the same with my 4g but no luck. Anyone have information if it can be done without pc? Don't have one or I definately would.

i used super one click...but that uses a pc...its very fast and easy though

Download gingerbreak.apk just search it in google

So Gingerbreak works on the SGS4G? The one I have is on stock Froyo 2.2.1 with KD1 baseband. I'm not trying to use Windoze, so this would really be good news.
