Im currently waiting for my Galaxy S 4G to be delivered, switched over from blackberry to android thought it would never happen , but I've recently joined this forum to stay connected with the android community and was curious if anyone has tested ICS for this phone or is it even possible yet?

first, welcome. second, its not possible yet. the ics source just got released, so we wont be seeing an official anytime soon. if after you have gotten comfortable with the phone and decide to root it, and get a custom recovery, like clockworkmod, installed then you there might be an ics rom or two cooked up by the devs. hope that helps.

Sorry just read the first part. If it comes with 2.2.1, which is most likely, than you should be able to easily root with SuperOneClick. Or if you like to have the latest and greatest you should update using Kies mini, a pc tool, which will give you 2.3.6
