I want to edit one file in my Galaxy S3 (T-Mobile if it matters), and the file is in /system/csc/ - so I can?t without temp root.
Can someone please give me an advice, what?s the simplest way to temp root the phone?
Sorry if that was already answered, I can?t find it. All I found was the perm root (a huge list of ~20 steps).
Thanks in advance.

They are all going to be the same. Root is Root. That said you would be able to un-root after you finish the edit. BTW, what is the reason you need to edit the file?

I remember on my old phone (G2) I was able to do simple temp root using couple commands only.
So you?re saying for temporary rooting my GS3 I need to go through the whole process?

As for the ?why? ? I wanted to modify /system/csc/feature.xml file by adding
Code:
<CscFeature_Contact_SetLinkCountMaxAs>20</CscFeature_Contact_SetLinkCountMaxAs>
to allow my SG3 to join more than 5 contacts together.
The advice is from here, and many people there reported that it worked for them, so I was going to try that.

Well, if I get to that sometime, I?ll be too lazy to unroot it anyway.
Will see? I have too much android-related stuff on my job,
and don?t want to also spend time on it with my own phone as well (searching for new ROMs and stuff).
That?s why I was hoping for 2-3 adb/shell commands for temp root, like it was with G2.
