My family and I have been doing some traveling this summer
and I have noticed that while on the interstate in several Midwest states I
cannot get any signal. I am not able to
get the internet, youtube, Tunein, or any other app that requires a data
connection. Any ideas. I noticed this a
few years ago but never brought it up.

    Avoid the midwest?

It's possible in remote areas (even on an interstate) they just don't have data coverage. I even have some spotty areas on I-81 which is a pretty major corridor going across the country where I was expecting a pretty solid connection.

** insert rant about the state of mobile data in the US **

Haha that's not a problem with your phone but the problem with the Midwest, especially the country side. T-Mobile is horrible once your located outside a larger city, so on the Interstate you will get no connection to a very slow edge connection.
