No 4G connection, live right in the middle of a 4G area.

I just received my phone today and it's stuck on 2g and I'm dead center in a 4g area. I've talked to tmobile and they couldn't figure it out, and told me to exchange it for a new one (I don't want to do that yet).

Have any of you had this problem and have you fixed it?

What kind of phone did you have before this? Are you using the sim card that came with it? Did they try resetting your phone's connection to the network?

I too bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 just 2 days back and am using T-Mobile network with unlimited data plan. But getting only advanced 2G connection. Not getting any 3G connection. I changed my SIM from the old make to the new make but still the problem persists. No 3G or 4G connection. And I live right next to downtown Chicago. It sucks.
