I know it takes LG & T-Mobile to forever upgrade to the next Android OS, like with Kitkat it happened May 2014, but with Lollipop they should be faster...the 90 day window has passed since Lollipop has been released.

Waiting too. The reason why i get the g2 over the g3 last week was because it will be updated to lollipop with g3 ui.

I just ordered an unlocked G2 D801 should be here later this week. I got bored of my Nexus 5. And the rumors of what these new phone coming out this year really isn't leaps and bounds ahead of what's already available. Got this because the overall reviews when compared to the G3, isn't much of a difference. Plus with an update to lollipop coming, why not get it brand new for $250. Can't wait

They can take their time as far as I'm concerned. Lollipop doesn't bring any new features and actually removes several. After seeing it personally on a Nexis 5, Galaxy S5, and Moto G, I don't want it anymore. My wife's Moto G became unusably slow after the update. So no, LG can keep it.

What do you mean it doesn't bring any features? What about standard ART Run time, Smart Lock, pop up notifications, Priority Mode, notification control, thousands of new APIs for developers to better all the apps you use, better battery and data usage info and a bunch of other crap like Material Design. I felt like I got a whole new phone when my Nexus 5 got lollipop. And the G2 will get lollipop they just update flagship's first.

I more meant that it doesn't include any MUST HAVE features. Like when Jelly Bean launched, it came with Google Now and you couldn't get it without an OS update. That kind of thing.

ART is great for the back end, but not must have; smart lock is cool, but tons of phones have that already, even with KitKat; pop up notifications are a terrible idea because they cover what you're doing iOS style; priority mode is god awful and I do not want it; dito for notification control; new APIs are always good, but again, not essential yet; better battery and data useage is just pretty, not essential. Material design is pretty, too, but not worth the headache.

Half of the things you list as features, I would list as detriments. To each his own.

The lack of a silent mode blows my mind. And none of those features are worth a huge performance hit, which everyone I know who's gotten 5.0 has mentioned. I hope I'm wrong. I have a Sony Xperia Z3c and my wife now has the G2 we got to replace her Moto G. For both of them, I'll be holding back on the update at least until I hear how performance is and what features were removed. It's sad, really, I've been with Android singe the T-Mobile G1, and this is the first OS update I haven't been excited about.

Yeah not really "Features" but it did bring a lot to the table that stock android didn't have. I am one of those lucky few who got better battery n all that good stuff with the lollipop update. So maybe that's why I'm a little more on the positive side of Lollipop.

The T-Mobile variant of LG G2 will eventually get Android 5; it's in the "Manufacturer Development" phase according to their site

T-Mobiles G2 and G3 are now in T-Mobile testing stage. Not too much longer, maybe a couple weeks, that's been the pattern for their stages.

Got it the other day. Supposedly it was released 04/15/15. Was a bit buggy and rebooted a bunch of times.

Have settled in with it but will post a separate question about Smart Lock.

Manually did the update with a PC. I like the look, had to restart the phone to get the icons to switch over. I'll see how stable it is.

So far so good. She has not owned the device for very long before the update but performance has been excellent and battery life about the same. The icons and some of the other interface is a bit different.

T-Mobile already has android 5.0.2 lollipop. If you use a car mount that holds the phone in landscape position with an app that forces screen rotation, like ultimate rotation control or rotate screen orientation from google play, you will find that they have ruined the user interface, particularly at the home screens because widgets cannot load in landscape.
In call UI is missing all 6 buttons in Landscape orientation.
I drive for a living, I updated my phone, I really liked the new version, I installed my rotation app, I discovered all of the flaws within seconds, It aggravated me for almost a week so, I downloaded the resources necessary to flash 4.4.2 back to the device I am happy again I just have ignore the prompt to update to lollipop.
My point is-- If you also like landscape to use it like a tablet or in a car mount in that holds it that way don't do it unless your curious and have the skills and resources to roll it back.
