MT3G home screen and widgets

I have a question about mytouch 3g's home screen today.
y'all know that one of Android's best point is its home screen, where we can store the widgets and shortcuts to our app.. but if we have too many things on the home screen, isn't too laggy? I love to put widgets on my android, but I removed all of them because of that delay. But is it only happening to me? how you guys are using ur own homescreen? is there any tip to solve this issue?

I have six widgets on my main homescreen. I generally don't face lag unless it's right after exiting a program. Don't have any tips to solve this though.
