ok, here's the skinny. I bought an unlocked nexus s (t-moble) and took it to Germany. Everything worked great (3g and all), but then I came to Guam. I tried 2 different mobile company's (docomo pacific, who actually sold the nexus s, and GTA). For some reason I can't get 3g on my phone. I took it Docomo and they stated that sometimes unlocked phones don't get 3g like looked ones do. I have never heard of this.
Does anybody know anything about this, or what I can't do to get 3g working?

Being a US territory, I think Guam uses the AT&T 3G frequencies for 3G.

The T-Mobile and International versions of the Nexus S don't have the right radio band. So it'll only work at 2G speed. Nothing you can do to that phone to change it. It lacks hardware.

For 3G in Guam you need the Nexus S 9020A (AT&T model), an unlocked AT&T phone or unlocked Pentaband 3G phone like the Galaxy Nexus (gets 3G everywhere). Otherwise you'll have to settle for 2G.

Wow, that's pretty disappointing. The nexus s was an amazing phone. Now I have to get something else.
