In the UK a sim free nexus S is 549, in the US it's $529 so I could save a fortune getting it from over the pond.

Am I right in thinking it's totally unlocked so I could do the above?

My cousin who is studying in Israel has been hounding me with emails to look into this for him. The only way to do it is for me to buy it for him and send it his way.

And yes for the full price you get it factory unlocked.

Bear in mind, that if you get it shipped by courier you will be charged VAT (17.5% or 20% after 1st Jan) plus whatever "administration" charge the courier wishes to charge you for dealing with the VAT/Sales Tax.

Yeah if I do it it will be a relative that buys it and ships it to me as a gift.

hey mate i was looking into this myself being in the UK also. Only thing is I would look into the frequencies and the bands to make sure it'll work with 3g and hspda over here - i'm not a techy in that regard so i'm not sure.

also even though it sounds like you've got it covered by having a relative over there, i was looking into this site: www.borderlinx.com

might be worth looking into as well.

    Thanks for the info.

As far as I know it's a GSM phone and should work fine in the UK/Europe.
