Sideways Pictures

If I take a picture with the phone held in the normal "phone" orientation (with the camera toward the top) the resulting image shows up properly in the gallery but if I upload it to Facebook, send it in an MMS, copy it to my computer, etc. it's sideways. I've done some web searching and it looks like the camera orientation is being stored in an Exif tag.

Can anyone tell me how to disable the use of these tags and make it generate the file based on orientation? Either that or recommend a good alternate camera app that'll do it?
