T-Mobile is pushing a s/w update to my phone with no SIM Card...

Originally, this phone was purchased with a T-Mobile sim card. I removed the sim card over a year ago and just use the phone as a music server. I didn't do a factory reset, but did remove apps down to the bare minimum.

So, why is this phone without a sim card wanting to download/install a T-Mobile s/w update now?
