    android phones dont support uma.

    i read off of this website that they are developing a protocol so that we can make calls over wifi for android phones. but i havent heard anything for a while

    This really would be sweet. I relied on UMA a lot on my Blackberry, really do miss it on my Vibrant. Would make this phone even sweeter then it already is!

    That's what Google Voice is for. It's as close to UMA calling as we can get.

    Not the same thing but -- i know this thread is somewhat dated. But I wanted to restart and find out from anyone whether they have an update on UMA capability on the vibrant thinking about making a move from sprint to tmobile but i use the femtocell from sprint (spotty reception where I live all carriers not sprint)

    Anyone has any ideas when the uma capability be avalable with the vibrant

    Yeah, our phones definitely are wifi calling capable just takes some work to enable it. If one were so inclined they could do more research about it on xda developers forums.
