I'm just curious does it use data since it is a data service basically.

Just curious if there is any reason to turn it off

Then why is there a switch for it lol? Figured that would be a reason for a switch for it

So you can turn it off. There is no need for it in an area that VoLTE isn't supported. Also, on most phones, it is likely to use more battery, since it is using the LTE radio.

I should clarify data usage. It does use data, but it shouldn't count against your data plan.

A switch wouldn't mean there is a difference in the way it's read on the network.

For example... WiFi calling will use my wifi for calls and texts... If i have it on it counts on my unlimited minutes and text even though it's going through wifi as the cell tower... If i have it off... It still goes to my unlimited minutes and text messages even though it's using the cell tower.
