For the past month I've been getting the slowest speeds I've ever had on a phone. I've had my Galaxy Note 3 since about July, and my speeds were great. But then I moved houses and the new area where I live gets the worst speeds possible during the day. At night the speeds are great, but during the day the speeds are unbearable. It seems to start happening at about 8 in the morning. I've tried changing the LTE to H+, which seems to be a bit better but not a lot. I suspect there is a lot of network congestion in my area, but I wanted to make a thread here just to make sure my prediction is correct. I've also included some screenshots of my speed. My upload speed seems to do just fine on LTE but on H+ not so much

If speed varies with the time, there's a 99.9% chance that it's due to the amount of traffic on the network. (That happens on mobile data in "upscale" neighborhoods, where everyone wants high speed data and no one wants a tower anywhere nearby - and knows the right people to make sure that towers are kept out of their neighborhoods.) I've said, at many community meetings, "Speed doesn't grow on trees, it grows on towers. No towers, no speed." People want technology changed so that "they" have to put up with the towers, but "we" get the benefits. And without paying for any research, of course - the industry should "just figure it out".

Yeah, I live near a tower but I have no idea which carrier it belongs to, but I'm guessing it's not owned by T-Mobile because of my speeds 😦 I guess I'll have to live with it until our WiFi gets connected at our new house 😞

I've taken a screenshot of my speeds at 2 AM and they're much faster. Now to go to sleep because it's really late 😴

Im in the exact same situation and it is network / location based and not a phone issue.
Tested with my Nexus 5, Note 3 and One m8. My problem starts around 5pm till about 11pm. During those hours my download goes to less then 1 meg and my upload can be 5-15 megs. LTE ping times are 100-250ms. However late night, early morning or early afternoon i get download speeds of 10 -25 megs and uploads of 15 with ping times in the 25 to 75ms range. This is at my residence and only during those times.

    At work it always rocks.
I did put in a ticket about 6 months ago and a few days later they did follow up with no problems found.

    Its not your phone.

By the way, I also rooted my phone and flashed the Canadian S5 ROM for Note 3 but my speeds aren't different at all from before I rooted it I made sure to check lol I was wondering if I could get the T-Mobile "4G LTE" symbol at the top because this symbol is really plain and I like the one that comes on T-Mobile phones

The rooted romantic might be the culprit
